The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction supervision, contractor coordination, scheduling, and quality control, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved plans and specifications.

Position Summary
Laland Baptiste is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to oversee daily construction activities for capital improvement and renovation projects in Syracuse, NY. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction supervision, contractor coordination, scheduling, and quality control, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved plans and specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee daily on-site construction activities and contractor performance.
- Ensure construction work complies with approved drawings, specifications, contracts, and applicable building codes.
- Coordinate contractors, subcontractors, and project teams to maintain schedules and project milestones.
- Monitor construction progress, workmanship, and quality control.
- Conduct regular site inspections and identify deficiencies requiring corrective action.
- Review construction documents, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Monitor site safety practices and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Conduct and participate in progress meetings and contractor coordination meetings.
- Prepare daily reports, maintain project documentation, and provide progress updates.
- Assist with project closeout, punch list inspections, and final completion.
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in construction supervision or construction management.
- Experience with public-sector construction, capital improvement projects, or large-scale renovations preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and contract documents.
- Experience overseeing multiple trades and coordinating contractors.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- OSHA 30 certification preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software.
- Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain a full-time on-site presence.
